Excellent opportunity available for a Trainee or Qualified Dental Nurse. You will have the opportunity to earn while training at our busy NHS/Private practice in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The position would suit an applicant who is hard-working, a team player and eager to learn.

Full training will be provided to enable the candidate to achieve Level 3 NVQ in Dental Nursing.

The job role would include:

  • Providing chairside assistance to the dentist, ensuring that the correct equipment is available
  • Ensure the care and welfare of patients
  • Keeping the clinical areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy and sterile as appropriate according to the practice’s health and safety and infection control procedures and manufacturers' instructions
  • Accurately complete patient clinical records as directed
  • Liaise with reception to ensure smooth patient communications and transfer of records
  • Undergoing training as may be required to develop skills and abilities
  • To work on the reception desk as and when required

Working hours are 41.5 Hours per week

We require a dental practice manager with excellent references and a history of success to take responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of our practices. The manager is expected to ensure that the practices are up to date with the current regulatory requirements such as CQC etc. The area of the responsibilities includes the following aspects of the practice:

Personnel management: Undertake recruitment, arrange staff induction and training, monitor staff hours, performance review and appraisals, dealing with disciplinary and grievance arrangements, holding regular staff meetings.

Finance: Take responsibility for all banking procedures, ensuring correct patient payment collection and recovery of the debts, checking the accuracy of invoices and bills and arranging payments.

Patients: Operation of the patient booking and recall system, dealing with complaints through the practice complaints procedure and dealing with patient queries in difficult situations. Greeting people and making them feel comfortable and happy in our surgery.

Administration: Keep all practice documentation, manuals and policies up to date, ensure maintenance for the computer service and data security, design marketing strategy and oversight of web and social media.

Equipment, Materials and Health and Safety: Liaise with sales and suppliers' reps as necessary, audit and review practice orders in view of getting better deals, setting up an efficient stock control, ensuring that the practice complies with health and safety requirements and ensuring that the practice equipment is serviced and maintained.

Other: Ensure property is maintained to the highest level, provide the practice owners with daily and weekly reports on the progress and the shortcomings. PA support to the directors.

Thaxted Dental Ltd has new vacancy for a Practice Manager.

This role requires at least 2 years experience in a managerial role. You must be a confident team player and ready to manage our existing team of 2 dentists, 2 nurses, a receptionist, a therapist and a hygienist. You will already be au fait with CQC expectations, and will have proven skills to implement and manage systems to achieve required outcomes. You will be familiar with HTM01-05 and ideally will have a dental nursing background. You will have a working knowledge of current employment law and be familiar with health and safety protocols. Ideally you will also be familiar with the SoE dental software.

You must have a logical mind, and the ability to follow a task through from the planning stage to completion, whilst also being able to delegate tasks to other team members as required. You must be willing to challenge the status quo and look for opportunities for the business to maximise income and profit, whilst ensuring that we always offer a consistent first class patient experience. You must be confident to manage staff performance, set achievable targets and hire and fire as the team changes and develops.

You will need to understand how to generate income whilst controlling costs. You€ also be familiar with the practice numbers, and be able to alert the principal appropriately when something needs to be changed. You€'ll be comfortable conversing with people from all walks of life, including dentists, patients and of course our practice team.

This is a flexible part-time position, (estimated at 20 hours per week) offering fantastic opportunities, a great working environment and a salary of up to ƒ‚£15 per hour, depending on experience. Exact days and hours are to be agreed, but there will be some Saturday morning commitment.
